Connect Cline to your emails

Why connect Cline to your emails?

Cline is a popular open-source AI coding assistant that runs as a VS Code extension. It gives you an AI chat right inside your editor, helping you write code, debug problems and understand codebases. But when you need to check an email from a client, reply to a teammate, or find a specific conversation, you still have to switch to your email app. That breaks your flow.

With MailMCP connected to Cline, you can manage your entire inbox from the Cline chat panel. Ask Cline to read your latest emails, search for a specific message, draft a reply, send an email, schedule a follow-up or organize your folders — all without leaving VS Code. The MCP protocol makes this integration seamless: Cline discovers the available email tools automatically.

Setting up MailMCP in Cline takes less than 2 minutes. Open the MCP Servers settings in Cline, add your MailMCP server URL and credentials, and you are ready to go. No external server to deploy, no complex configuration. MailMCP handles the secure IMAP/SMTP connection so you can focus on your code and your communications.
