The limitations of Claude.ai native email connectors

Anthropic added Gmail and Microsoft 365 connectors to Claude.ai, and both can now send. But they still have limits that MailMCP solves.

Gmail connector: sends, but no attachments

Add MCP integration in Claude.ai

Can I use Claude.ai with my OVH, LWS or Infomaniak email?

Yes. Claude.ai only has native connectors for Gmail and Microsoft 365 (work or school accounts). For all other providers (OVH, LWS, Infomaniak, Orange, Free, personal Outlook.com, etc.), MailMCP bridges the gap. Connect any IMAP mailbox to Claude.ai via the MCP protocol in under 3 minutes.

Does MailMCP replace the native Gmail connector in Claude.ai?

MailMCP goes further than the native Gmail connector. Since August 2026 the Gmail connector can send, with your approval, from one Google account at a time, but it cannot attach a file or schedule a message. MailMCP lets Claude.ai send with attachments, schedule messages for later, use several mailboxes, and logs every action in your dashboard. It works alongside or instead of the native connector.

Is it secure to give Claude.ai access to my email?

MailMCP uses OAuth2 with PKCE for authentication. Your email credentials are encrypted with AES-256 and never shared with Claude.ai. Email content transits in real time and is never stored. You can revoke access instantly from your dashboard. Servers are hosted in France (EU), GDPR compliant.

Can I schedule emails from Claude.ai?
