When you ask Claude.ai to "reply to this email and send it," the native Gmail connector creates a draft inside Gmail. You then have to open Gmail, review, and click Send manually. That is not automation.

A proper Gmail MCP server exposes the send action as a real MCP tool. Claude calls it, the email leaves, you get confirmation — same experience as a human assistant writing on your behalf.

    Generate a Google App Password

    Go to myaccount.google.com > Security > 2-Step Verification > App passwords. Create one named "MailMCP" and copy the 16-character password.
