Native Gmail connector: sends, but no files. MailMCP: every action.

Since August 2026, the native Gmail connector can send: Claude shows you each email and waits for your approval, from a single Google account. But ask it to attach the PDF, or to send tomorrow at 9 AM, and it cannot: it only sees attachment metadata and has no scheduling.

A proper Gmail MCP server exposes the send action as a real MCP tool. Claude calls it, the email leaves, you get confirmation — same experience as a human assistant writing on your behalf.

    Go to myaccount.google.com > Security > 2-Step Verification > App passwords. Create one named "MailMCP" and copy the 16-character password.
